kevin platt design

the Kevin plat designed double ender  first shaped and ridden in the two good swells dec 1967 cyclone Brenda!  delivering high quality waves to noosa although k p had a plastic machine model with keyo this is the board he was working on and in the next year he lead the way bring this board shorter much shorter

this had nothing to do with who was first or anything else it was  a design we got to improve our surfing

and in the uncrowded high quality waves dbles ruled.      in that next year we built many   volume reduction was our mission shorter boards lower c/ter of buoyancy   haa'' we had not got there then  but that principle is main stream to-day

50/50 pinched rails

lots a roll

our version of gg flex fin from the old template

the platt design reproduced by the original manufacturer early 1968  hewston surfboards noosa

shaper platt glasser mick wilson or huie gloss ken alexanda  sander and general good bloke bob aitken

this board was 7' 6'' x21''x 2 7/8''   this is the design that changed everything.

when kevin failed to turn up some days huie had to shape this design and shaped a lot of them so it  was fitting for him to do this board again  shape glass and polish by huie as a tribute to kevin platt   r i p
